{ The Kings Of Judah }

A) Name: Solomon

- Solomon was good for most of his life but near the end he turned evil and worshiped other gods. (1Kings11:6)

Name: Ahijah from Shiloh
Message: (Not directed to Solomon) He told Jeroboam that God was going to take ten tribes away from Solomon's son and leave one. That Jeroboam would be the king of Israel. 
Responds: Solomon tries to kill Jeroboam (1Kings11:40)
Fulfilled: Jeroboam becomes king of Israel (1Kings12:20)

- Kings from every nation came to consult him and to hear the wisdom God had given him. (2Chron.9:23)

- Solomon asked for wisdom and not riches and success (2Chron.1:10)
- As a result of Solomon not listening to God and staying humble, he married pagan women and fell into sin by worshiping their gods. (1kings11:1-6)

Fulfilled: God said that He would not completely destroy them but still allowed king Shishak to ransack the temple and palace. (2Ch.12:9)

- For three years the kingdom of Judah "faithfully followed in the footsteps of David and Solomon." (2Ch.11:16)

- Without mercy and compassion the people following you will fall away.
- Like Rehoboam's short good moment, humility is needed when leading. 

C) Name: Abijah

- Inconclusive because in 1 Kings 15:3 it says that he committed the same sins as his father and was unfaithful to God but in 2 Ch. 13 Abijah gives a long speech about how they are trusting in God. Then it goes on to say that God gave them victory because they trusted in the Lord.

Message: You failed to trust God but trusted the king of Aram instead, now you will be at war. (2Ch.16:7-9)
Responds: In anger Asa threw Hanani in prison and began to "oppress some of his people."
Fulfillment: He died of a foot disease because He didn't trust God.

- Asa dethroned his grandmother Maacah because she made an Asherah pole. (2Ch.15:16)

- When the going gets tough never start relying on human strength, but always lean on and trust in God.

Other Events: God saved Jehoshapat in the battle against Aram causing the enemy to realize that he was not the king of Israel.

Message: God will give you victory (2Ch.18:5)
Responds: Shouldn't we ask a prophet of the Lord?
Fulfilled: It was true for Jehoshaphat but not Ahab, whose message was directed to. 

Name: Zechariah son of Kenaanah, a false prophet
Message: "With these horns you will gore the Arameans to death." (2Ch.18:10)
Responds: The kings go to battle.
Fulfilled: Ahab is killed. 

Name: Micaiah son of Imlah, prophet of the Lord
Message: King Ahab will die in battle, "the Lord will put a lying spirit in the mouths of your prophets." (2Ch.18:18-22)
Responds: Both kings go to battle.
Fulfilled: Ahab is indeed killed like Micaiah prophesied.

Name: Jehu son of Hanani the seer
Message: Because you helped the wicked God is angry with you, But "there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asherah poles in the land, and you have committed yourself to seeking God." (2Ch.19:3)
Responds: He encouraged people to return to God with an undivided heart.
Fulfilled: N/A

Name: Jahaziel son of Zechariah
Message: Do not be afraid, this is God's battle (2Ch.20:15-17)
Responds: Jehoshaphat and the people worshiped God and then went out to fight, he appointed singers to lead the way praising God. 
Fulfilled: God caused the enemy to fight each other and gave them victory. 

Name: Eliezer son of Dodavahu 
Message: "Because you allied yourself with King Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy your work." (2Ch.20:37)

Fulfilled: The ships they were building never set sail.

- When God blesses you, praise His name 
- Always be discerning

- He ordered the restoration of the Temple! 
- He was not buried in the royal cemetery after he was assassinated.

- Never abandon God or the throw away advice from mentors He has placed into your life. Use discernment.

- Good but not wholeheartedly (2Chr.25:2)

Message: Don't hire foreign troops from Israel! God is not with them! You will not be victorious. (2Chr.25:7,8)

Message: Why are you turning to gods that couldn't save their former people? God has decided to destroy you for refusing my counsel. (2C25:15)

Fulfilled: He was captured and later assassinated.

- He was very famous because of his army, constructing, vineyards, etc. and it was all because of God; He game him success because Uzziah sought Him.

- Do not let success or fame get to your head. It is always God who needs to be glorified and we need to humble ourselves and praise Him for everything we have and achieve.

- Do not seek help from pagan systems.

b. Message: God scolds Assyria and speaks of their soon destruction.

Fulfilled: The angel of the Lord killed 185,000 Assyrians in the night and they returned home.

Responds: Asks God to remember how faithful he's been. 
Fulfilled: God heals him and adds 15 years to his life.

Fulfilled: In 2 Kings 25 Babylon invades and does everything said.

- When trouble comes, respond with a divine perspective and don't see it as the end of the world, see it as a trial that will only deepen your trust in God.

Message: God will bring judgement on Judah and reject my own people because of the detestable things Manasseh has done.

- When Manasseh was in Babylon in chains, he "finally realized that the Lord alone was God" and humbled himself and tore down all of the altars, etc. that he had built and restored the altar of God.

- Humility is a big part of being a good leader. It's never too late to humble yourself and restore what was destroyed.
